Midleton Very Rare 2022 is a blended Irish whiskey in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. It combines single pot still and single grain whiskeys, aged between 12 and 33 years in lightly charred ex-bourbon casks.
This is a limited release, numbered and signed by master distiller Brian Nation, and it comes in a wooden box.
The nose offers ripe fruit and sweet mango, with light cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and vanilla sugar. The palate is silky, with fresh fruit, subtle floral notes and fine oak. The finish is distinctly nutty, with restrained spice, a hint of espresso bean and well-integrated oak.
