Midleton Very Rare 2023 is the annual release of this Irish whiskey, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made only from the best single pot still and grain whiskeys of the Midleton Distillery.
Every cask was a former bourbon cask, and the casks used range in age from 15 up to 27 years.
The nose shows ripe melon, nectarine and apricot, with maple syrup, cereal, vanilla, honey, roasted coffee and a touch of tobacco. The palate is soft and creamy, with mixed fruit, forest honey, dark chocolate, candied orange, fine oak and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and creamy, with some pepper, vanilla and oak.
