An Irish single pot still whiskey from Midleton Very Rare, number 7 in the Dair Ghaelach series, in which each release highlights a different native tree. It is blended from aged single pot still whiskeys and finished in Kilranelagh forest oak casks sourced in Ireland. Bottled at 55.9% ABV, it is a limited release and each bottle is individually numbered. The nose is oak and earthy cedar with toasted nuts, dried orchard fruit and a gentle briny note. The palate brings dark chocolate, black pepper, ginger, forest floor and charred oak, with a touch of apple. The finish is long and warming, with spice, toasted wood and delicate fruit sweetness.
