Midleton – Very Rare Forêt de Tronçais Edition 1 (70cl)

Midleton Very Rare Forêt de Tronçais is an Irish whiskey blend of aged pot still and grain whiskeys, finished in Tronçais oak casks. It is marked as Edition 1 and comes in a 700ml bottle. The extra fine-grained French oak brings woodland spices alongside the spice of the pot still whiskey and the floral character of the grain whiskey. The nose shows poached pear, caramelised apple and orange zest, with honeycomb, toasted hazelnut and freshly roasted coffee beans. On the palate it starts herbal, with peppermint and sage, then orchard fruit, orange, chocolate-dipped honeycomb and vanilla. The finish is long, with fruit and spice wrapped in toasted wood.
