Midnight Moon Cherry Moonshine is a flavoured corn spirit infused with real cherries, made by Piedmont Distillers in Madison, North Carolina. It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle.
The base is a corn mash, distilled three times in copper pot stills and cut to strength with filtered water, following a family recipe from Junior Johnson. Cherries are used during production and then packed into each mason jar, where they steep for several weeks before bottling.
The nose is ripe, fermented cherry, closer to preserve than sweets, with corn sweetness and a little caramel. Tart cherry leads the palate before sweetness develops. The finish is medium, with lingering cherry tartness and gentle corn warmth.
