Milk & Honey Elements Sherry Cask is a single malt from Tel Aviv, Israel, bottled at 46% without chill filtration in a 75cl bottle. It was named World's Best Single Malt at the 2023 World Whiskies Awards. About 40% of the spirit matures in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, the first Kosher-certified sherry casks produced in Jerez, which were seasoned with sherry for a year before shipping to Israel. The other 60% ages in ex-bourbon casks, and the two are married before bottling. The malt is unpeated and double distilled in copper pot stills. Red fruit, caramel and marshmallow lead the nose, with a streak of lemon. The palate brings sultana, raisin and cherry juice, then dark chocolate and stem ginger, closing on bittersweet chocolate and tobacco.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich red fruit, caramel, marshmallow and sweet malt, with gentle oak, a streak of lemon and hints of tobacco leaf

Palate

Soft entry of sultana, raisin and cherry juice with honeyed sweetness, then dark chocolate, dried fruit, gentle oak spice and stem ginger

Finish

Medium-long, with bittersweet dark chocolate, then tobacco and toasted oak, and a faint echo of orange peel and coffee

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
