This is a 13 year old heavily peated single malt from Jura, bottled by Milroy's at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the first batch-released product in the Milroy's Heavily Peated range.
The batch was made by vatting four first-fill Jamaican rum casks, which came from the Monymusk Distillery before being filled on the Hebridean island. The rum oak adds tropical fruit and deep spice to the earthy peat of the malt.
The nose has canned peaches, Amaretto biscuit, woodland bonfire smoke and sun-baked tarmac. The palate is rich and round, with Demerara sugar, stewed tropical fruit and Victoria sponge, and building smoke. The finish is long, with smouldering coals, pear drops and hessian.
