Milroy's Original is a blended Scotch whisky built on a legacy recipe from the 1960s. It uses a noticeably higher proportion of single malt to grain spirit than most standard blends.
The whisky is aged mainly in ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is sweet, with orchard fruits, poached pear, soft fudge and light cinnamon and clove. The palate is buttery, with vanilla ice cream, dried apricot and sponge cake, and the finish brings oak, soft black pepper and a little citrus peel.
