This is a Speyside single malt from Miltonduff, distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2014 at 22 years old by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It was matured in a single refill sherry butt, which produced 440 bottles at 51.5% ABV, in a 70cl size.
The nose combines warming spice with soft raisins, ripe plums, mocha and caramelised sugar. The palate is strongly spicy and fruity, with a hint of leather, crushed brown sugar and gentle oak. The finish is very long, keeping the dark fruits and spice, with notes of syrup, barley and molasses.
