This is Miltonduff Glenlivet 38 Year Old, bottled in Cadenhead's Authentic Collection. The whisky was distilled in 1978 and matured in a bourbon hogshead before bottling in summer 2017, with 180 bottles produced.
The nose recalls old-fashioned sweet shops, with spearmint, eucalyptus, pine needles and redcurrant. Praline, humbugs, liquorice, cocoa beans, soft flinty notes and apple crumble run through the palate. The finish is an ever-changing fruit salad with elegant oaky highlights.
