A four year old wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Monk's Road, made by Log Still Distillery in southern Nelson County, Kentucky. It is bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
Wheat is the main secondary grain in the mash, which gives a sweet, smooth and balanced bourbon.
The nose offers caramel, nuts, cinnamon, maple and peppercorn. On the palate, pecans and walnuts mix with dried cherries, cinnamon spice and peppery vanilla. The finish begins with vanilla spice, moves to earthiness and ends on a spiced note.
