Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin (37.5cl)

Monkey 47 is a Schwarzwald Dry Gin from Germany's Black Forest, in a 37.5cl bottle. Its recipe uses 47 handpicked ingredients, about a third of them from the Black Forest, alongside Asian botanicals. Local cranberries are the distinctive touch. The botanicals are prepared in soft water from a Black Forest spring, and the gin is matured in traditional earthenware containers. It works with tonic and in a sling, martini or gimlet. The nose shows juniper, crisp citrus and a sweet floral note, with a hint of peppery spice. Subtle bitter fruit and a balanced depth follow on the palate, ending in a racy finish.
