Monkey Shoulder is a Speyside blended malt Scotch whisky, put together by master blender David Stewart. It is bottled at 40% abv in a 70cl bottle and is non-peated, with bourbon cask maturation.
On the nose it is elegant, with marmalade, Crema Catalana, cocoa and malt, and winter spice of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon, with a hint of aniseed. The palate is very malty and creamy, with berry fruit, toasted barley, cloves and butterscotch, and then manuka honey, hot buttered toast and dried apricot. The finish is of medium length, with clove-studded oranges, creamy vanilla and peppermint.
