Montebaco Parcela Cara Norte

CaraNorte is made from 100% Tempranillo from the Parcela Cara Norte vineyard in Valbuena de Duero. The organically farmed vineyard lies at 840-880 metres on a north-facing slope with a 15% gradient, where cool conditions help ensure long, stable ripening. The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks with native yeasts, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for 14 months in small French oak barrels, 30% of them new, and bottled after natural settling without filtration. It has a deep ruby colour, with a very fruity nose of red and dark berries, marzipan and a little vanilla. The palate shows blueberry and wild blackberry with a well-integrated oak character, alongside Ribera del Duero's classic spicy tones and a harmony of fruit, dryness and minerality.
