Montelobos Mezcal Joven Ensamble (70cl)

This is a joven mezcal from Mexico, made at the Montelobos distillery by Ivan Saldana in a 70cl bottle. It is an ensamble of two agaves, mostly Cupreata with a touch of Espadin, both certified organic. The spirit is distilled twice using traditional methods. It is completely colourless. The nose recalls agave, with hints of fermentation and a slightly smoky edge. On the palate it is complex and balanced, with a enveloping mouthfeel and a good match between flavour and aroma.
