A Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC from La Piuma, presented in a 3 litre bag-in-box.
It is deep ruby red with violet hues. The nose has ripe red fruits such as cherry and blackberry, black pepper and a light hint of vanilla from maturation. On the palate it is balanced and full-bodied, with soft, well-integrated tannins, good acidity and a full, persistent finish.
It suits pasta with rich sauces, roast meats and Abruzzese arrosticini. The bag-in-box format helps keep the wine fresh for longer by protecting it from oxidation.
