Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC from Zaccagnini, made from selected Montepulciano grapes. It is an intense ruby red, tending towards garnet with age. The nose shows ripe red fruits such as plum and cherry, sweet spice and a light vanilla note from barrique ageing. On the palate it is robust, warm and balanced, with well-integrated tannins, a soft harmonious character and a persistent, pleasantly spicy finish. It suits hearty dishes such as roasts, grilled meat and aged cheeses, and is best served at 18°C.
