A Tuscan red wine from the Maremma, made mainly from Sangiovese. The Santa Maria vineyards sit on calcareous clay soils in a mild climate, giving complexity and a refined aromatic profile. Ageing often takes place in oak barrels, adding ripe red fruit, delicate spice and well-integrated vanilla. On the palate it is balanced, with soft tannins and a pleasant persistence. It suits roast meats, game dishes and aged cheeses.
