Morris – Rutherglen Smoked Muscat Limited Edition Single Malt (70cl, 48.3%)

A limited release Australian single malt from Morris, in a 70cl bottle at 48.3% abv. It combines single malt whisky, fortified Muscat barrels and heavily charred oak, and came from a collaboration between the Head Distiller and the Head Cooper, who experimented with the barrel-charring process. The nose opens with clean white smoke, raisin fruits and blackberry jam, before the smoke fades to reveal the Muscat character. The palate brings charred pineapple, a dusting of smoked paprika, dark sugars and crisp apple, ending dry. The finish recalls chilli-infused dark chocolate dipped in smoked apple jam.
