Morris – Rutherglen Smoked Muscat Limited Edition Single Malt (70cl, 48.3%)

This is a limited release Australian single malt from Morris, bottled at 48.3% abv in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in fortified Muscat barrels and heavily charred oak, and it came out of a collaboration between the Head Distiller and the Head Cooper, who experimented with the barrel-charring process. The colour is honey, and the nose pairs clean white smoke with raisin fruits and blackberry jam. On the palate come charred pineapple, smoked paprika, dark sugars and crisp apple, ending dry, with a finish of chilli-infused dark chocolate and smoked apple jam.
