Morris – Sherry Barrel (70cl, 46%)

Morris Sherry Barrel is an Australian single malt from Rutherglen, Victoria, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in French and American oak casks that previously held Australian red wine, then finished in barrels that held Morris of Rutherglen's aged flor Apera, a dry, fino-style sherry made mainly from Palomino grapes. All the ingredients are Australian. The colour is tiger-eye with copper highlights. The nose brings spun toffee, baked peach flan and fresh sherry cask notes, followed by subtle spice, toasted nut and clean oak on the palate. The finish is candied lemon with gentle sage and marjoram.
