Morris Sherry Barrel is an Australian single malt from Rutherglen, Victoria, bottled at 46% abv in a 70cl bottle. It has a tiger-eye colour with copper highlights.
The whisky was matured in French and American oak casks that previously held Australian red wine, then finished in barrels that held Morris of Rutherglen's aged flor Apera, a dry, fino-style sherry made mainly from Palomino grapes.
The nose is spun toffee, baked peach flan with compote and fresh sherry cask. The palate brings subtle spice, toasted nut and clean oak, and the finish is candied lemon with gentle sage and marjoram.
