Refill bourbon hogshead
This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Mortlach, distilled in 2009 and bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It comes from a single refill bourbon hogshead and was drawn as one of 352 bottles, in a 70cl bottle. Mortlach is known for a firm, meaty style, put down to its 2.81 distillation and its worm tub condensers. This bottling has not been coloured or chill-filtered, and it has no sherry influence. The nose brings crunchy ginger nut biscuits, pistachio shells and key lime pie. On the palate there is Scottish marmalade, lemon sponge cake and a drizzle of warm honey. The finish is medium to long, with malted barley, pear drops and warming spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
