A 16 year old Speyside single malt from Mortlach, released in the Flora & Fauna series at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Mortlach has been nicknamed 'the Beast of Dufftown'. Its distillation process keeps copper contact to a minimum, which gives a sulphurous, meaty spirit. Most of the output went into Johnnie Walker blends, so until the distillery launched its own core single malt range in 2014, this 16 Year Old was one of the few ways to find Mortlach as a single malt, alongside the occasional independent bottling.
