This is a 16-year-old Speyside single malt from Mortlach, matured in sherry casks and bottled at 43.4% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The Distiller's Dram takes its inspiration from an original release made for only a fortunate few.
The nose is bold and complex, with stewed dark orchard fruits, earthiness and spice. The palate is robust and full, with a coating texture, light leathery spiciness and notes of apricot and honey, both sweet and savoury. The finish is long and complex, with a surprising sweetening at the end.
