This is the Poker Face Edition of Mortlach from Hidden Spirits, a single malt distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2022 after 19 years. It has a sherry cask finish and is bottled at 52.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich and fruity, with coconut, cream, caramel and toasted oak, over bold ripe fruit, spice, fresh-baked malt loaf and honeydew melon. The palate opens with spice, then toasted hazelnuts and cream, toffee crisp and macaroons with a peach and pineapple filling. Caramel and honey bind the middle, before lingering spice, orchard fruits and chewy toffee.
