This is the Mortlach 2022 Special Release, a cask strength Speyside single malt bottled by Diageo at 57.8% as part of that year's Special Releases. It is a limited edition.
The whisky was matured in virgin oak, Tawny Port and Red Muscat casks. Juicy blackberries, ripe plums and dried oranges with warm spices lead the nose. The palate brings dark chocolate, stewed fruits, roasted nuts and subtle black pepper, and the long finish carries spiced vanilla and earthy wood embers.
