This 34 year old Speyside single malt from Mortlach was distilled in 1989 and bottled by Murray McDavid for its Aficionado collection of vintage Scotch whiskies. It comes in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a single bourbon hogshead and then finished in a first fill sherry octave, giving 179 bottles. Murray McDavid has matured whisky in casks that previously held wines and spirits since 1994. The nose brings barley sugars, beeswax and buttery brioche. The palate is creamy fudge, dried apricots and fruity oak, and the finish has orange peel, lingering malt and a hint of nuts.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
