Mortlach Midnight Malt is a 30 year old Scottish single malt, here in its 2023 edition. It is made using the distillery's 2.81 distillation and bottled at 49.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is finished in Bordeaux wine, Calvados and Guatemalan rum casks, and has a deep tawny colour.
The nose is savoury and faintly herbal over a subtle vinous character. On the palate come wine-soaked fruit and apple, building to peppery spice and a full body. The finish is long, sweet and gently warming.
