Mortlach The Beast of Dufftown is a cask strength single malt from the Speyside distillery, bottled at 57.8% for the Diageo Special Releases 2022. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was finished in Tawny Port, Red Muscat and virgin oak casks, and is bottled without added colour and without chill-filtration. The 2022 releases follow the theme Elusive Expressions, each telling a legend from its distillery. Here it is the beast of Dufftown, lifted into the night sky when the moon turned crimson.
Mortlach was founded in 1823 by James Findlater and was the first legal distillery in Dufftown. It is known for its 2.8 times distillation.
