This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from Craigellachie distillery, bottled by Mossburn Distillers & Blenders as Vintage Casks No.5. It was distilled in 2007, matured in refill hogsheads and bottled on 30 November 2017 at 46% in a 700ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
Craigellachie stands in Banffshire, where the Spey meets the Fiddich.
The nose is fresh cereal with white pepper and a whiff of gunsmoke, then boiled sweets and toffee malt. The palate is full and creamy, with chilli and black pepper. The finish brings leather, light smoke and lemon rind.
