Mossburn Ephemera The Unconformity is a 14-year-old Speyside blended malt, bottled at a cask strength of 52.9% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Ephemera collection from Mossburn Distillers & Blenders and is named in honour of the 18th-century Scottish geologist James Hutton. The malt comes from two Speyside distilleries: one aged in re-charred hogsheads, the other in first-fill bourbon barrels. Selected portions of both were finished in reused Oloroso sherry hogsheads, then married and given further maturation. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring. The notes describe lemon, ripe apricot, warm honey, white pepper, subtle oak and aromatic spice.
