Mossburn Island Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Mossburn Island is a peated blended malt Scotch whisky made from single malts distilled at several Scottish island distilleries. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring. The blend matures first in American oak barrels, then in Mossburn Cask Bill #1: first-fill ex-bourbon barrels fitted with toasted virgin European oak heads. Mossburn Distillers & Blenders, the Jedburgh independent bottlers behind Torabhaig distillery on Skye, are behind it. The nose has clove and potpourri spice alongside island smoke. On the palate, oak, tannin and spice give way to heathery dried fruit and black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with a dry, fiery kick.
