This is a 10 year old Craigellachie single malt, release number 13 in the Mossburn Vintage Casks range. It comes from a select batch of refill hogsheads.
Craigellachie Distillery sits at the fork of the Spey and Fiddich rivers. Its spirit is weighty from the start because of a long fermentation, and it gains floral and fruit weight as it matures.
The nose is pungent fresh cereal with white pepper and gunsmoke. On the palate come boiled sweets and toffee malt, and the finish has a little kick of fire.
