A single malt from Mosstowie, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2002 by Gordon & Macphail at 40% ABV. Mosstowie was made at Miltonduff distillery in Speyside. It was a so-called Lomond malt, in production at Miltonduff from 1964. Hiram Walker, the Canadian distiller that had owned George Ballantine & Son since 1935 and bought Miltonduff a year later, needed a wider range of malts for blends such as Ballantine's Finest. The rectifying plates were hard to clean and other blenders showed little demand, so production ended in 1981 and the stills were replaced with traditional pot stills.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
