Muré Pierres Sèches Pinot Gris

Pierres Sèches is an Alsace Pinot Gris from the Muré family, who have made wine in Alsace since 1648. The grapes are picked by hand at low yields from old vines and placed in small 20 kilo crates to keep as many berries whole as possible. The must is fermented slowly with the grapes' own natural yeast, under temperature control to preserve the character of the fruit. The wine is golden in the glass. The nose is lightly smoky, with strawberry, peach and mango. The palate is full and crisp, with mandarin and apricot, and it ends in a long finish.
