Murray McDavid was established by London wine merchants Mark Reynier and Simon Coughlin, with Gordon Wright of Springbank Distillery. The company is known for maturing whisky in interesting casks, especially fine wine casks. It helped reopen Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay in 2000, working with Jim McEwan, and is now owned by Aceo.
