This is a 28-year-old blended malt Scotch whisky from Murray McDavid, released as Chapter I of Coastal Embrace in the Mission Gold 30th Anniversary range. It combines malts from Islay, Orkney and Speyside. It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2024 at 55.1% ABV, with 447 bottles in 70cl.
The final five years were spent in a 350-litre French oak Cognac puncheon. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers sweet spice, salted caramel and apple. The palate brings dried ginger, sultanas and grilled pineapple, and the finish is creamy toffee, salt flake and sweet oak.
