This is an independent bottling of Dailuaine, a Speyside single malt, from Murray McDavid. It was distilled in 2009 and matured for 12 years, then bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was first aged in bourbon hogsheads and then finished in first-fill Sauternes dessert wine casks.
The nose is typically described as sweet honey, floral aromas and rich malt. On the palate come toasted nuts, sultanas, raisin biscuits and warming cinnamon, with a malty character. The finish brings vanilla, caramelised nuts and gentle oak.
