Margaux wine cask
A 21-year-old Ledaig, a heavily peated single malt from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, bottled by Murray McDavid at 57.4% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2022, with an outturn of 186 bottles, natural in colour and non-chill-filtered. For its final three years the whisky was matured further in a Margaux wine cask, bringing red wine-soaked European oak to the smoky spirit. The nose is floral and smoky, with strawberry and pepper. The palate brings coastal peat, bonfire and toffee apple, and the finish is long and oily, with flowers and oak spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
