Murray McDavid Macduff 26 Year Old Chateau Lafite and Oloroso Finish (70cl, 47.9%)

This is a 26-year-old single malt from Macduff distillery in the Highlands, bottled by Murray McDavid in its Mission Gold range. It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2024, in a 70cl bottle at 47.9% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. Two casks of Macduff spirit were brought together, each finished for six years, one in Oloroso sherry and the other in Chateau Lafite red wine. Only 484 bottles were filled. The nose offers dried apricot, sultanas and sweet pastry. On the palate come mulled fruits, waxy malt and black tea, followed by a finish of rich oak spice, dried orange and clove.
