This is a 35-year-old Speyside single malt bottled by Murray McDavid in its Mission Gold range. It was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2024, in a 70cl bottle at 46.7% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered, with 732 bottles filled.
It is a tea-spooned malt, finished in three casks: Oloroso sherry, PX sherry and French red wine from Chateau Lafite. The bottling pays homage to the Fiddichside Inn, a one-room whisky bar in Speyside.
The nose brings apple pastry, tropical malt and stem ginger. Soft plum, fruity fudge and poached apple lead the palate, and the finish has creamy cigar notes and lingering sweet oak spice.
