A 28-year-old Tobermory from the Isle of Mull, bottled by Murray McDavid in its Mission Gold range at 49.8% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2024, with 573 bottles, natural in colour and non-chill-filtered.
This is an unpeated malt, matured in red wine barriques. Tobermory was founded in 1798 and is the only whisky distillery on the island.
The nose has red currants, dark plum and salted caramel. The palate brings grilled strawberry, a coastal note and a hint of smoke, and the finish has red cherries, sea spray and herbal tea.
