Nagahama Amahagan World Blended Whisky Webinar Edition (70cl, 47%)

This is a blended whisky from Nagahama Distillery in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, made up of malt and grain whiskies. It was bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle for the Webinar Edition. The edition was made for those who took part in the online Nagahama Blend Challenge on 19 September 2020. Six whiskies went into the recipe: Nagahama single malt, three highland malts of differing ages, a Speyside malt distilled in 2001 and a long-aged grain whisky. The nose is cereal and soft brown sugar, then charred caramel and fresh fruit. The palate is fruity and spicy, with apricot, peach and Calvados, and the finish carries a gentle smokiness.
