Nagahama – Distillery Roman 8 Year Old Pure Malt Whisky (70cl, 47%)

Roman is an 8 year old pure malt whisky from Nagahama Distillery, bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 2016 on the side of Lake Biwa and is the smallest in Japan, so it has been importing whisky from Scotland. Its master blender selected the whisky on visits to Scottish distilleries, then blended and matured it at Nagahama. The name on the bottle means romance. Vanilla and gentle barrel notes sit with fruity sweetness and fresh green apple, followed by malt sweetness and a soft, dry finish with some bitterness and spice.
