Naked Malt is a blended malt Scotch whisky at 40% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is made by the Edrington Group from single malts of its distilleries, including Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes and Glenturret.
The malts first mature in first-fill and refill American and European oak casks. The whisky is then married and finished for six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose combines creamy toffee, warm butter, baked apple and baking spice, with cherry compote. On the palate come vanilla custard, cooked stone fruit, raisins, sultanas and sticky toffee pudding. The finish is medium, with cocoa, toasted oak and a wisp of smoke.
