This is a single barrel of 35 year old Canadian whisky, bottled by Nashville Barrel Company in a 750ml bottle. Barrel #291 is American oak, and the whisky was bottled straight from the cask without dilution at 75.54% ABV.
The West Coast Hazmat name refers to that strength, which is too high for carriage on passenger aircraft.
The nose is dense caramel, seasoned oak and dark fruit, with maple, tobacco and warm spice. The palate is intense, with oak, toffee, roasted nuts, dried fruit, leather, vanilla bean and deep spice. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spice, caramelised sugar and lingering dark fruit.
