Nc'Nean Ainnir is the first single malt from Nc'Nean, the organic distillery on the Drimnin Estate on the Morvern Peninsula, which Annabel Thomas built from scratch. The spirit first ran in March 2017, and it is made from organic Scottish barley.
This bottling was vatted from five casks: two ex-bourbon and three STR wine barriques. It was bottled in August 2020 at a natural cask strength of 60.3%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Just 1,320 numbered bottles were filled, each in recycled glass.
The nose is fresh citrus, ripe peach and apricot with warming spice. On the palate come orchard fruit, peach, vanilla and gentle spice, and the finish is warm and clean with a fruity sweetness.
