Nc'nean – Huntress Malted Teacake (70cl, 48.5%)

Nc'nean Huntress Malted Teacake is an organic, unpeated single malt and the fifth release in the distillery's Huntress series. It is a limited edition of 4,391 bottles, bottled at 48.5% in January 2026, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The release centres on fermentation. The barley is organic and Scottish, and three yeasts were used, including Dubbel Trouble, a strain usually associated with Belgian-style ales. Maturation was in 50% STR red wine casks, 48% ex-Bourbon casks and 2% Oloroso sherry casks. The nose offers figs, fresh pastries, sultanas, apricot and sweet malt. On the palate come freshly baked cake, dried fruit, crème caramel, buttered toast and fig marmalade. The finish is medium to long, malty and bright.
