Nearest Green is a Tennessee whiskey bottled at 84 proof, which is 42% ABV. It is named for Nathan "Nearest" Green, recognised as the first documented African-American master distiller. It is produced under the supervision of master blender Victoria Eady Butler, a descendant of Green. The whiskey is made in Tennessee using charcoal filtering in the Lincoln County Process. The nose brings butterscotch, vanilla, green apple, stone fruit and lemon zest, with hints of tobacco leaf and mineral notes. The palate is light to medium in body, with honeyed corn, caramel, mild rye pepper and pear, and a modest oak influence. The finish is clean and slightly drying, with soft pepper and honey-and-cornbread.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
